A crest is a kimono or haori with a family crest. There are unique techniques in the NAGOYA Kuro Montsuki Zome that is not found in other production areas because the crest is carefully valued which takes a lot of effort.
Black dyeing with NAGOYA Kuro Montsuki Zome is a kind of deep and tasty black. The black can be obtained only by using the black dye that has been preserved and by following the strict dyeing method from ancient times. It is difficult to obtain black with sufficient depth, red bottoming has been used since ancient times.
Due to the old-fashioned manufacturing method, it really takes time and efforts. But the warmth and toughness made by hand made and the beautiful black have gained high evaluation. It is a glossy black color that does not fade over time.
In order to make you feel closer the black color of Nagoya black crest dyeing, we have added a special black dye for hand towels carefully over time. There are five white circles on the NAGOYA Kuro Montsuki Zome hand towels named Ieyasu's travel tools. It's related to traditional black crest, these five crests have the meaning of ancestors, parents, and siblings.
